Reshma Chibba exhibition at Constitution Hill 08 to 31 August

The artist on her work:

My fascination and obsession with the Hindu Goddess Kāli has been the point of departure in my art production. She is the Goddess of Time, which essentially makes her the Goddess of creation and, paradoxically, the Goddess of destruction. Kāli is the most ferocious in appearance among all Hindu Goddesses, and She has come to represent the unbridled side of nature and womanhood…

One of the key ‘symbols’ used in my paintings and sculpture is the tongue, it is possibly Kāli’s quintessential feature, as it speaks of protest, revolt and sexuality all at the same time. This ‘symbol’ re‐emerges in many of aspects of my production.
